Yoga

Yoga ist eine der sechs klassischen Schulen bzw. Darshanas (Mimansa, Vedanta, Samkhya, Yoga, Nyaya, Vaisheshika) der indischen Philosophie. Es gibt verschiedene Formen des Yoga mit einer eigenen Philosophie und manchmal verschleierten Praxis wie im Vajrayana.

In der Praxis haben sich neben dem Ashtanga Yoga verschiedene andere Systeme entwickelt.
Während in den religiösen Systemen die Gottheiten eine zentrale Bedeutung haben, liegt hier der Schwerpunkt mehr auf Vergöttlichung und dementsprechende Selbstverwirklichung wie Moksha und Erleuchtung des Nirvikalpa-Samadhi.

Schulen

Die bekannteste Schule ist neben dem

• Hatha Yoga der
• Ashtanga Yoga oder Raja-Yoga von Pantanjali

Daneben gibt es Schulen wie

• Nada-Yoga
• Kriya-Yoga
• Japa -Yoga (Mantra - Wiederholung)
• Sivananda Yoga
• Surad Shabda Yoga - eine Variante des Nada-Yoga
• Siddha Yoga
• Pranava Yoga
• Purna-Yoga
• Kundalini-Yoga (Laya-Yoga)

sowie die weniger übungsorientierten Jnana-Yoga, Bhakti-Yoga und Karma-Yoga, auf die sich auch die Bhagavad Gita bezieht.

Desweiteren gibt es noch den tibetischen Yantra - Yoga (Trul khor) sowie den Yogapfad des buddhistischen Tantra.
