Naropa

Naropa (auch: Nāro oder Nārotapa, * 1016; † 1100) war ein tantrischer buddhistischer Meister und einer der 84 Mahasiddhas. Er wurde nach glänzender Kindheit und Jugend Lehrer an der Nalanda - Universität. Seine Kenntnisse erhielt Naropa von seinem Lehrer Tilopa[1] (* 988; † 1069).

Im Westen ist Naropa durch seine 6 Yogas[2][3] oder 6 Dharmas (Wylie: na ro'i chos drug) bekannt, die zur 2. geheimen Einweihung des Vajrayana gehören :

  • tummo - innere Hitze
  • gyulü - Illusionskörper ; (mahamaya)
  • Ösel - Yoga des Klaren Lichts [4]; (abhasvara)
  • milam - Traumyoga ; (svapnadarsana)
  • Bardo ; (antarabhava)
  • phowa - Bewusstseinsübertragung ; (samkranti)
