Die Brihat Samhita (bṛhatsaṃhitā : die große Sammlung) wurde von dem indischen Astronom Varaha Mihira im sechsten Jahrhundert in Sanskrit verfasst, der daneben die vier weitere Hauptwerke Brihat Jataka(Brihat Jatakam, Brihajjatakam), Panchasiddhantika(mathematische Astronomie), Laghu Jataka und Yogayatra zusammenstellte.
Die Samhita ist eine Enzyklopädie der Astrologie und umfasst weitere Themen wie Planetenbahnen, Eklipsen, Regen und Wolken, Architektur, Wachstum von Getreide, Herstellung von Parfüm, Ehe, innere Beziehungen, Edelsteine, Perlen und Rituale.
