Bhagavata Purana - Srimad Bhagavatam
Das Bhagavat-Purana oder Shrimad Bhagavatam besteht aus 12 Skandhas (Cantos, Bücher) mit insgesamt 18000 Versen (Shlokas) und handelt von Vishnu's 10 Avataren. Als Autor gilt Vyasadeva.
Jedes Universum wird durch sieben Schichten bedeckt - Erde, Wasser, Feuer, Luft, Himmel, die Gesamtenergie und falsches Ego - je zehn mal größer als die vorherige. Es gibt unzählige Universen neben diesem einen, und obwohl sie unbegrenzt groß sind, bewegen sie sich etwa wie Atome in dir. (Bhagavata Purana 6.16.37)
